Grass Lawn Park

Our afternoon at Grass Lawn Park all began the other day when Sahara pooped on the carpet in our room (the joys of potty training). If she hadn't we wouldn't have needed to steam clean the carpet and spend the night (and a good chunk of Saturday) at Grandma and Grandpa's house while it dried. And since we spent Saturday there, we were on our own on Sunday afternoon. Our friend Annie recently told us about a renovation at Grass Lawn Park in Redmond, so we decided to go check it out. So that's how we ended up there this afternoon.

It really is one of the nicest parks we've been to--and they have a lot nice parks here. Sahara had a blast, but her favorite part seemed to be the bouldering area where kids can climb on three huge rocks (see next post for pics). The ground surface beneath the rocks and other playground equipment is made out of recycled tires. It's cut-up and colored to look like tree bark, and it's amazingly bouncy.
