Sahara rides a real pony (not the kind with batteries)

Today Amy, Sahara and Gavin drove to nearby Woodinview Stables. Sahara was very excited at the prospect of seeing real horses. Sadly, she thought 'real' meant the kind with batteries (as opposed to toy horses which don't have batteries). It's hard for a country boy to raise a city girl. But all the more reason to get her out to see the real thing.

Sahara was excited and engaged in some backseat driving on the way there. When she saw some horses out the window, she told Amy, "Mommy, there's the horses. You missed it. Turn around!" When they arrived, Sahara watched a little boy riding on a pony. Spurred on by the fact that somebody smaller and younger than her could ride, Sahara didn't balk when the horse handler looked at her and said, "Your turn!"

Sahara had a great time, although many of the pictures and most of the video footage show her looking somewhat serious. Once she got used to being on the pony, she relaxed and didn't want to get off. After the ride they walked around the stables and looked at the horses. Sahara was full of questions and just as curious and interested as she could be. She didn't want to leave. Although afterward she did think some little ponies were going to break out and "get her".
