Sahara came into our bedroom around 7:15 this morning, and everything began. For Sahara, this was the first year that she knew what was going on enough to be really excited about getting downstairs and opeing presents. Gavin was still groggy, and sat on the floor as Sahara brought him his heavy-laden stocking. At 3 1/2 years, Sahara was eager to open every present as quickly as possible. She would have too, but we made her slow down and thank the giver of the gift. At 1 1/2, Gavin was happy and focused on each gift he got. He was too busy playing with the last gift to be interested in unwrapping the next one. He needed a little coaxing, which Sahara was happy to provide.
Sahara got several nices things, including an Ariel doll. Gavin got more, mainly because Sahara is getting a new big girl bed when we get back home (were at Grandma's house). Gavin's favorite gift appears to be a battery-powered dog ball. It rolls around the floor and switches direction randomly. Gavin gives chase and squeels with delight each time the ball changes direction and eludes his outstretched hands. It's hilarious to watch, but I feel a little bad. I mean, it's a dog toy.
