Dallin went to his two week checkup yesterday and we were interested to see if he'd gained any weight. His birth weight was 8 lbs, 6 ounces, then he dropped down to 8 lbs, 2 ounces at his two day. So would he have gained the weight back in two weeks? I guess that he would, throwing out a bullish estimate of 9 lbs even. Amy though that was way too high and guessed closer to his birth weight. Neither one of us expected him to weigh in at 9 lbs 6 ounces! He's apparently eating well, and the fact that he sleeps longer at night than our other kids (and therefore eats less?) doesn't seem to have slowed him down. Of course, the fact that he's so tall--21.75 inches--may help. In any case, our little Dallin is healthy and growing.
The kids love to hold Dallin, mostly when he's awake and being given attention by Amy or me. Sahara is really good about supporting his head and being gentle with him. For Sahara, holding Dallin seems to be about being close to the baby and feeling like she's doing something very grown up and responsible--just like mommy and daddy. Gavin likes to hold the baby too, mostly I think because it's still a bit novel and because Sahara is doing it and he wants (and is entitled!) to do anything that Sahara does. It's funny with Gavin because he'll hold the baby for a few seconds, then look up and say, "All done." He just needs a quick fix and he's on his way.
On an unrelated note, Gavin started pronouncing Sahara's full name today. He's called her "ha-ha" for a long time now because he couldn't say Sahara. It was cute. One more little part of his childhood has come and gone:(

I'm too tired to delete and repost-so this is really from Tracy. :)
P.S. Logan lost a lb on his 2 day and on his two week weighed 13 lbs (he was born weighing 8'10) Big boys! :)
